March 28, 2025 – We’re excited to share that DOCKR, the Dutch specialist in cargo bike subscriptions, is now part of the Today family. With this acquisition, we’re accelerating our vision: Fostering a sustainable Today by making micromobility solutions accessible for all.
As part of the deal, Pon Holdings – known for brands like Gazelle, Swapfiets, and Volkswagen in the Netherlands, is now a shareholder in Today.
Sean Flood, and David Touwsma, co-founders of Today:
“We love cargo bikes. They’re efficient, sustainable, and increasingly essential for urban logistics. DOCKR has built an outstanding reputation in this sector, and we’re thrilled to grow together under the Today brand.”
Today designs and manufactures electric scooters, bikes, and mopeds — and operates innovative mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) solutions such as vehicle sharing platforms, private fleets, delivery operations, and subscriptions.
Kees Jan Blankestijn, CEO of DOCKR, adds: “The acquisition of DOCKR is a natural fit: it adds high-performance cargo bikes to the Today product lineup and brings in a stellar management team to lead our European growth.”
Our first joint launch — flexible cargo bike subscriptions in Vienna — is already live through www.ridetoday.at.
With operations now spanning the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe, Today is a global leader in flexible micromobility.
Together, we are powering a new era of travel. Let’s ride.
